My name is Emma Wolfe and I cover Glasgow & Lanarkshire managing several serviced accommodation units. I specialise in corporate and short term letting providing accommodation in central areas close to local industry.
I have held several positions in hospitality, sales, housing and customer service management. It is my experience to date that has led me to Pillow which combines all my passions. I absolutely love what I do and if you would like me to manage your property or have a need for accommodation in my area I would love to hear from you.
I have lived in Glasgow all my life and am proud to be representing Pillow Partners in this area creating hands off businesses for property owners on my door step. Born and bred in this area I would still choose to stay here, I know it inside out and can enhance our guest and customer experience by being certain I am setting them up with the correct property and am able to make personal recommendations of places to see, visit, eat or drink. Glasgow is a vibrant, exciting city with some of the friendliest people you could ever meet. The saying is true – People Make Glasgow!
In my spare time I will often be out enjoying the scenery of Glasgow South either walking my dog or running. I like to take care of my body and mind and running helps me achieve this. I also attend an early morning Bootcamp and pop into the odd yoga class, I see these things as an investment in myself and use this time to clear my mind and refocus for the day ahead allowing me to deliver excellence to all my clients.
To my role in Pillow I bring a passion for the business along with a proven track record in Sales and Customer Service. I have an obsession with performance in particular, pricing strategies and occupancy rates so you can be assured if your property is managed by me I will be working day and night to get the best result.
My name is Jen and I am super lucky to live and work in ‘The Big Tree Country’ that is Perthshire. After being born in Glasgow, at 10 months old my family moved to the Village Town of Crieff. Being brought up in Perthshire was super fun with so many adventures being around so many forests, rivers, cycle paths and a ton of parks.
From the age of 16 I was very career minded. My first job was Office Junior at a Perth Solicitors Office, swiftly moving up to Legal Secretary. My desire to further this brought me back to Glasgow for 4 years to study and work in City Centre Solicitor Firms, where I mainly dealt with all legal procedural aspects of property purchase and sale. A wealth of knowledge and experience was gained, in the 9 years training and working within this sector, as I covered a variety of Legal Departments.
A slight change in career choice, and a move back home to Perthshire, found me applying for a position at a local Perth Letting Agents. I was offered the job out of 70 applicants and quickly progressed to Senior level dealing with all aspects of lettings from carrying out viewings, preparing tenancy documentation to taking on new business. This is where I realised my passion for property, coupled with interacting with new people every day and helping them get their new home – in my element.
Customer Service has always played a key part throughout my working career and is something I took too naturally. Providing a solution to any issue and seeing this through to the customer’s satisfaction feels very rewarding to me.
When I am not obsessing about properties and ensuring Landlords and Guests are completely happy, I can be found with my 3-year-old (mini me) off on adventures. When I can tear myself away from my wee girl I’ll end up on my snowboard in one of Scotland’s fabulous locations. Summer time sees me enjoying music at festivals and family holidays. I absolutely love going to a new place just like my love for meeting new people.
If you have ever visited anywhere in Perthshire you will know how beautiful it is. If you have not been to Perthshire – why not? Call me up and we will rectify that! The options are endless – just a short trip can take you to The Fortingall Yew – Europe’s oldest tree, the world’s highest hedge, the sole survivor from Shakespeare’s ‘Birnam Woods’. A ton of history and scenery to be enjoyed. From water sports available in so many places in Perthshire like Lochearnhead and St. Fillans to paint-balling and go-karting. You can even do flight training at Scone. Many hidden gems in Perthshire – you just got to know where to look. Or call me! It is my mission to bring more guests to Perthshire to experience all its wonders and create more exposure for this fantastic area.
My love for property and meeting new people means I am bursting with excitement to be a part of the Pillow Team. One of my main attributes to this role is ensuring the personal touch to properties and guest stays, giving owners complete confidence everything will be looked after as if it was my own property.
From working for 7 years in a small team managing over 300 properties, I can pretty much handle anything thrown at me regarding property maintenance and management. Having always been tech savvy, utilising technology to the max comes second nature meaning I’m a whizz on the computer!
My name is Lisa Ball – I’m 38 and live with my husband and 3 children in Presteigne (Powys) and I am the Regional Property Manager for Pillow for the Welsh Marches region – covering Powys, Herefordshire and surrounding areas. I grew up in Herefordshire and although I’ve been lucky enough to work throughout the UK and various places overseas – I’ve always been drawn back to this area. For me – there is nowhere else that compares. I love the fact we are surrounded by some of the most breath-taking scenery, ubiquitous black and white villages, warm and welcoming country pubs with roaring open fires and an array of local cuisine. We have a wealth of history surrounding us including iron forts, churches, cathedrals and of course the Mappa Mundi. Its also the local people that make this area what it is and I feel honoured to have been given the opportunity to help support the local area and showcase all it has to offer.
My family and I like to make the most of our surroundings and enjoy walking, eating out, visiting local attractions and festivals such as the Three Choirs Festival, The Royal Welsh Show, Local Food and Flying festivals, music events and vintage car rallies.
I have spent the whole of my working life working in Customer Service roles – mainly within the Hospitality and Tourism industries meaning I can offer a wide array of skills, knowledge and experience to both owners and guests.
Hi my name is Julie Devine I am the Regional Property Manager for the Solent area, I am looking forward to working with you and other property owners in this area who are interested in either investing in serviced accommodation (SA) or are looking to move from traditional buy to lets to serviced accommodation.
I have been a buy to let landlord for 20+ yrs and own 7 traditional 3 bedroomed houses which are all currently let on AST’s, our properties are currently rented out via the local housing association, or managed by ourselves and but I am in the process of moving them from buy to let you SA. I really believe in this business model and am looking forward to being fully up and running myself and to working with you to support you to get your business to the same stage of being more productive/lucrative and giving you a stress free life.
I have also worked for a local housing association in intensive housing management for the over 60’s, so am familiar with the general rental and management of properties.
When not working I love the outdoors being the owner of 2 small dogs I enjoy walks in the woods and on the beautiful beach at Hayling Island during the off season. I am passionate about animal welfare and have had a number of rescue dogs over the years. I have also recently become a bee keeper and am delighted to report that my 1st hive has survived the winter – always a tricky time for a new hive. The winter has been reasonably mild so that has helped I am sure. I am also a keen gardener and enjoy growing my own fruit and vegetables.
Finally for those of you who are familiar with the Solent area you will already know what a lovely area this is not only to live but for visitors, being a gate way to the beautiful Isle of Wight and having plenty of our own visitor attractions such as the historic dockyard where you can visit The Victory, the Mary Rose Museum and The Warrior. There is also Gunwharf Quays a lovely area for eating, shopping and of course the Spinnaker Tower offering a fantastic views over Portsmouth and the Solent over to the Isle of Wight. And of course no visit is complete without a visit to Old Portsmouth and its famous hot walls with its medieval Square and Round Towers. Southampton also has a lovely waterfront with a great shopping centre as well as a being an Roman walled city with parts of the walls still in tack it has recent historical connections with the Titanic, and offering fantastic sporting venues for both football and the Ageas Bowl for cricket.
In conclusion this area offers a fantastic investment opportunity as not only do we have a visitors market we also have a large number of prestigious employers in the area such as the University, NHS, Xyratex, IBM and NATS in Fareham to name just a few. So we also have a great ability to offer corporate and business lets as well as the holiday markets, all of which will help to fill your calendar and offer a fantastic opportunity to have a 70%+ annual occupancy rate for your property.
I hope that having read the above you are keen to get in touch so that we can meet up for a chat and begin our working relationship that will free up your time and increase your income.
Hi, my name is Lisa Holmes, I am in my mid 40’s, am Mum of 1 and a step-mum of 3.
I am the Regional Property Manager for Lancashire. I feel very lucky to live in and to cover this area, we have some beautiful coastline but also have some lovely rural areas as well. Not forgetting the great cities, we have.
I myself live in Blackpool, I love Blackpool and have been coming here since I was a kid and feel right at home now living here. I have seen some major changes in Blackpool, when I was younger the whole of Blackpool was thriving, but over the years it has seen a decline and it is such a shame to have seen a lot of places boarded up over the years. However, I am so happy to say it is now all changing again for the better. A lot of investment has been put into Blackpool over recent years to improve it and try to make it back into the bustling number one seaside town it used to be. And that is not stopping anytime soon, they are finishing improving the North end of Blackpool this year, new tramlines and developments and work to the train station and surrounding area. Then next year a huge development starts work on an exciting new leisure development in Central Blackpool that will take around 5 years to complete but will be huge for Blackpool, so great news for a property manager like myself to be in this area.
I feel very lucky as I can have a really varied portfolio of properties, from your corporate lettings and serviced accommodation, to holiday lets and bed and breakfasts and much more, which means I can cover everybody from all walks of life, whether it is a business person wanting a luxury apartment for a week, or a family wanting a nice seaside break, or a romantic weekend for a loving couple, all my bases will be covered.
My working background is based on 2 main backgrounds, hospitality, this I got from running pubs and clubs for nearly 15 years. Then my other background is sales and customer service, this has been my other 14 years of working life.
My hospitality background as I say comes from pubs and clubs. Started off as barmaid, then quickly worked my way up the ranks and was running my first pub by the age of 20. My first pub was a community pub in my hometown of Stoke-on-Trent. I then went on to run city centre bars and nightclubs in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. Absolutely love being behind a bar, but unless it is your own bar, you work a lot of hours for not a lot of money. It is still my dream to move abroad one day (when my kids are grown) and have a nice little bar in the sun. #MAKEITHAPPEN
My sales and customer service experience come from telesales to start off with, I was one of those annoying “ambulance chasers” who called you about a road traffic accident or to see if you had PPI, sorry someone had to do it! The strangest thing I sold over the telephone was circus tickets for a circus no one had heard of, to businesses to buy for underprivileged kids, still think to this day it was a scam! Face to face to sales, I came up with the catchy sales line “nothing beats the smell of pine, especially at Christmas time” for when I was selling xmas trees on street corner on a deck chair with a generator powering the lights and xmas music, it worked, we sold out in an hour! I again started off at the bottom, to then work my way up the ranks in call centres, until I was running the call centre, setting them up for other people (I made a guy a millionaire in 9 months), to owning my own. The buzz is amazing. But due to ill health had to take a bit of time off and came back with just a small family business that we have now.
My loves in life are family time, nothing makes me smile more. Whether it is walking the dog, fun days out with the kids, sitting for a meal together, watching films etc if we are together and happy that is the main thing.
I personally am a bit of a telly addict, reality TV, talent shows, gameshows and property programmes. I love music, although my music taste is very eclectic! Kate Bush, Katherine Jenkins, Little Mix, The Prodigy and Bon Jovi are just a few of the names on my Spotify playlist! I love the karaoke, whenever it is on, I must have a bash, not that I am any good, but God loves a tryer!
What I personally bring to Pillow, apart from my relevant experience, is my passion. I want to do the best I can for myself and my family. I want to show my kids that with hard work and determination that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. This means that my passion is my role at Pillow, Pillow as a company, but especially the property owners and guests of Pillow.
I believe the success in my career has been my personality. I am a big bubbly personality, always smiling and laughing with the “life is too short” attitude. But as well as being all smiles, I have a very caring and considerate side, I am a great listener and from all who know me, I give the best advice. I am an excellent communicator, totally reliable and trustworthy and extremely loyal. I will not rest until a job is completed to the highest standard. I love helping people, I think that is what really comes across in my customer service skills, my above and beyond attitude. It gives me a huge buzz and warm fuzzy feeling inside knowing that I have helped someone.
I want to be the best in my career, but most importantly, I want to be the best Mum ever! And I think I am lucky enough to have the 2 compliment each other, my family are my motivation and what keeps me happy and because I am happy and motivated I can do the best in my career for Pillow.
